- 26 manufacturers provide treats for cats and dogs, 9 provide treats only for dogs.
- All manufacturers provided verification to quality of ingredients (human grade), and if applicable manufacturers have provided verification to organic ingredients and/or meats sourced from certified humanely raised animals.
- No company pays a fee to be considered or included in the List; they are selected solely on their use of quality food ingredients.
- Your purchase supports pet food consumer advocacy. Since 2006 we have been actively advocating for pet food consumers.

The Treat List is offered at various prices to allow for various levels of support to the pet food consumer advocacy work of TruthaboutPetFood.com. The document is the same no matter what price you purchase at.

- These treats can be purchased from quality independent pet foods stores, and/or directly from the manufacturer. Each manufacturer page in the Treat List provides information on their specific distribution.
- This document is mainly for U.S. pet owners. Nine brands are available in Canada. A small number of other brands are available outside of North America.
